The UNSW Business AI Lab has 80+ world-class researchers advancing Business AI across three themes:

    What happens when people and AI meet? How do we build AI skills, improve decision-making, promote AI-human teamwork, and manage change?

    How do we ensure AI is used safely and appropriately? How do we align AI with human values, ensure fairness, promote sustainability, and manage data legally and ethically?

Product Assessment

Toustone, an Australian startup developing a unique employee-retention analytics product using cutting-edge AI technology, approached the UNSW Business AI Lab to review the user interface, predictive capabilities and ethical framework used to develop it.

Competitive Horizon

Roche, a world leader in pharmacology research, reached out to the UNSW Business AI Lab seeking an understanding of how AI and other emerging technologies will impact the long-term competitive outlook for a key product line.

Biodiversity

Borneo Nature Foundation, a prominent organisation in wildlife conservation, collaborated with the Business AI Lab research team to enhance biodiversity management in Sabangau National Park. The continuing project aims to improve conservation efforts for a diverse range of wildlife, from dragonflies to orangutans, through the development of a versatile AI application designed to help managers and scientists manage biodiversity.

Start-ups

We work with a broad range of start-ups helping them connect with the global innovation ecosystem, offer hatchathon and datathon experiences and competitions and advice on how to design a new innovations and business models that generate value from AI and drive impact. We work closely with more than 100 UNSW student social entrepreneurs across the entire university.
