Toustone, an Australian startup developing a unique employee-retention analytics product using cutting-edge AI technology, approached the UNSW Business AI Lab to review the user interface, predictive capabilities and ethical framework used to develop it.
Toustone's product, RetainTalent, provides predictive analytics to give organisations insights into the factors driving staff turnover, the loss of key staff and changes in workplace culture. Careful governance is important to the product, as predictive analytics are a powerful tool for improving employee experience and productivity but there are potential pitfalls at play.
The UNSW Business AI Lab, working with the UNSW Hybrid Work Leadership Research Lab, assessed the product and its governance policies in a short project.
The assessment included:
- User interface of the product
- Predictive capabilities and accuracy of the product
- Toustone's AI governance framework
The UNSW Business AI Lab has a comprehensive framework for safe and responsible AI. Using this framework, the lab analysed the governance policies used by Toustone, including data management and AI development.
Following the assessment, the UNSW Business AI provided Toustone with recommendations and strategic insights.
